Permaculture kitchen garden (pòvrtnjak)
The general idea is that we mulch all plant areas, that we combine plants which reinforce each other (synergy, sùradnja), that the garden is nice to look at, nice to smell and a nice place for insects like butterflies and bees.
The garden is facing north (upper side). A few (6 to 10) meters further to the north is our house.
The garden is placed on the south side of a hill, so we probably need terraces.

Around the garden, on north-east, east, south and west side we place bushes (rìbizla, orah, prunus serotina) as wind breakers against the bura, burin, levante, sirocco, lebic and pulenat.
(The wall, the house and barns are on the north side to protect the garden)
Also the potatoes (krumpir) and "aardperen" (topinamboer, Helianthus tuberosus) are wind shields in the south-east.
We will place a small wall on the north side, with a water basin in front of it. Between the water and the wall, we want to grow fruits like kiwi's.
The wall absorbs the warmth of the sun, and the water reflects the sun so it will be very hot in front of the wall. An ideal spot for kiwi's?
