Things are changing so fast in Croatia
It depends which way one goes I suppose. But the time I came back from Split we got an air conditioned modern diesel-electric integrated brand new train. It took the curves in a different way than the old dinosaur. Various old locomotives are still in service between Croatia and the surrounding countries.
Dinosaur power
Coming into Croatia for the first time, you will see wood piles In cities in fall. They will be preparing for winter, storing wood in the cellars. In the countryside, people of 70+ can be living in a house without electricity or other heating than a woodstove. From the inside you can see the sky trough the tiles. Croatia partly lives in an other time than some central systems that want to get into sync with Europe.

Airconditioned turbo
It even had plug-in four channel music. We travelled through those mountains along spectacular routes, turbo wining. Different experience! And with the Croatian music in the headpiece, quite impressing.
